Explore the Property
Relax, Restore, and Disconnect at Avalanche Ranch. The ranch sits on 36 acres and encompasses multiple pastures and an apple and plum orchard. We have cleared a hiking trail that skirts the upper boundaries of the ranch. Tucked away higher up our property is a stocked trout pond that offers premier views. Picnic at the water’s edge and take out the canoe or paddleboat. Meander the labyrinth, visit the barnyard animals, and fish or hang out at our riverfront. All of our property amenities are included in an overnight stay.
On Property Activities
Lodge
The Lodge is open 24 hours as a recreation facility for all guests. It offers a cozy lounge area containing a telephone, books, a TV, and Wi-Fi. The game room has a ping-pong table and a variety of games and puzzles for your enjoyment. On the North side of the Lodge porch, you will find a cabinet to restock necessary items for your cabin.
Gift Shop
The gift shop is located in the main Red House, next to the office, and is open 9-5 to browse during your stay. Tasteful antiques, locally crafted art, jewelry, home decor, clothing, and more can be found. Necessities like fresh eggs, frozen meat, snacks, and butter are available.
Kids Activities
Avalanche Ranch is the perfect place to be a kid! There is plenty of room to run around, unplug, and get dirty. The sandbox, swing, sledding hill, ice rink, barnyard, pond, and volleyball court will keep all ages busy.
Campfire & Music
Every Wednesday Night and Saturday Night in the summer at Avalanche Ranch: Gather around the campfire for songs and ‘smores! A signature night at the Ranch with an authentic western feel. Song requests are welcome and if you have an instrument you’d like to bring along, more the merrier!
Ranch Animals
Depending on the time of year and pasture rotation, you will find horses, pigs, llamas, cows, and chickens. Feel free to visit the animals in the barnyard and the chickens love your kitchen scraps!
Pools
Learn About the Hot SpringsOpen around-the-clock for all lodging guests (closed Wednesday from approx. 9am-5pm for cleaning), the 3 pools are located on site, a short walk from all cabins. Temperatures range from 92-105 degrees and are the perfect place to decompress and enjoy the spectacular mountain views. Family friendly!
Massage
See Massage PackagesMassages at Avalanche Ranch are a great way to relax and let go of tension. Available daily from 9am-7pm, the office can book an appointment with 24 hours notice. We offer 50, 80 and 110 minute custom therapeutic massage. Paired well with a soak in the hot springs before and after.
Walking Trails & Labyrinth
Quiet your mind and reconnect with nature on our trail and by meandering through the labyrinth. The mile-long trail contours the property South to North and ends (or starts) at the pond and labyrinth.
Property Pond
The Avalanche Ranch pond is located on the North end of the property and is a great place for family play, fishing, walking, and boating. There is a canoe and paddleboats for lodging guests to use. Great for first time canoe experience! and the paddleboat is well-suited for young and old alike! Lifejackets are provided by Avalanche at the office.
Snowshoeing, Sledding, & Ice Skating
The Ranch provides a fleet of snowshoes for guest use either on-site or to take with to near-by trailheads. Sleds are provided on-site for all lodging guests to enjoy. Depending on conditions, our ice rink is open from December-February. The Ranch has an assortment of ice skates, but if you have your own, bring them along.

Book one of our five refurbished wagons for a unique and memorable experience. Appointed with a full bed, heat, electric kettle, coffee maker, and a grill. Bathrooms are located at the hot springs and the Lodge. Thoughtfully preserved and restored, each wagon offers a unique glimpse into the past and a lasting connection to the land and stories that shaped the American West.

Amenities Included with your Stay
All stays include access to the Avalanche Ranch grounds from check-in to check-out, including the Hot Springs pools, hiking trail, pond, riverfront, and grounds. The Cabins & Wagons are fully equipped with linens, bath and pool towels, and linen changes for stays of 4 nights or more. All Cabins and the Ranch House have a full kitchen, while wagon guests have an electric kettle, coffee pot, and grill.
Each cabin kitchen is stocked with cookware, utensils, a coffee station with coffee and a French press, a selection of hot beverages, and salt & pepper—just bring your favorite ingredients and you’re ready to cook.

We do not provide coffee in the morning, but there are coffee pots in every cabin and wagon, as well as coffee, sugar, and powdered creamer.
Is Avalanche Ranch a family-friendly place?
Yes. They must be supervised and respectful of quiet hours. Children are allowed in the pools and babies must wear swim diapers.
